I NEED TO PROVIDE PROOF OF INSURANCE TO DISMISS THE COMPULSORY INSURANCE CHARGE. HOW DO I DO THIS?

Requirements: Morrison Municipal Court’s Attorney requires a letter from the insurance company on company letterhead stating the vehicle was covered at the time of the violation and include the following information:*

•Summons number and name of the Defendant •A statement that insurance coverage was in effect on the DATE AND TIME of   the violation •The vehicle listed on the Summons is the vehicle covered by this policy and the vehicle identification number (VIN) •That the person driving the vehicle was covered by the insurance policy

Note:*The card provided by your insurance company is NOT sufficient proof of insurance for Morrison Municipal Court

Submitting Letter: You can submit the Proof of Insurance letter prior to your arraignment date by: •Mail: Morrison Municipal Court, 321 Highway 8 Morrison, CO 80465 •Fax: (303) 697-8752 •Email: court@morrisonco.us

Dropping Insurance Charge: Upon receiving the letter, the proof will be reviewed and if determined sufficient proof, the Compulsory Insurance charge will be dropped. If applicable, you will then be able to pay the fine amount associated with remaining cited violation(s). If you have a Summons to appear you will need to appear in court on your arraignment date to speak with the Town Prosecutor and Judge regarding the remaining violation(s).
